Micromech staged one of their own dedicated displays of Motion Control equipment and Systems Solutions in the large reception atrium at Diamond House on the Harwell Innovation and Science Campus on Weds 8th April. All contacts at the DLS , Rutherford ( ISIS), Central Laser facility ( CLF) and STFC were invited to attend.
Delta Tau who are renowned for manufacturing the world’s most powerful motion control products joined forces with Micromech who are the main UK Delta tau integration partner. During the past five years both Micromech and Delta tau have supplied the majority of intelligent motion controllers and drive equipment for powering and positioning machine and beam line devices at this large Synchrotron Site.
Principal items of interest on display were as follows:-
1) Alio Industries Tri-Pod unit with Delta tau Clipper Controller. Demonstrating vacuum compatible ‘point in space’ positioning for samples under examination.
2) Delta Tau’s own LV Brick.combined 8-Axis Controller and Drives which can be commanded via Ethernet by the EPICS client. Four different drive technologies were demonstrated on the same module establishing it’s versatility for beam Line applications.
3) Alio Industries precision Linear Stage with sub-micron positioning integrity.
4) Parker Hannifin Linear Motor System LX80 for laboratory applications.
5) Parker Hannifin Precision Linear Screw driven stage 404XR for heavier duty applications.
6) Parker Hannifin Thrust Actuators Stepper or Servo Driven.
7) Isel Linear Stages with integral stepper motor for coarse positioning at low cost.
8) Trinamic Stepper Drive Demonstration with ‘Stall Guard’ open loop stall detection.
9) Wittenstein precision Servo gearheads.
10) PM bearings. Special bearing units and Segment Ring Slides for vacuum applications.
11) Danaher AC Synchronous impedance protected gear-motors for moving loads at low speed. Speed control with 240 VAC Inverter. Precise stop /start . Multiple motors on one drive. No current trips required.
12) Poster Boards with Micromech Company profile displayed.
13) Video presentation for ALIO Industries Hexapods, Tripods , Air bearings and Rotary Stages.
14) Video presentation of Isel’s Servo Interactive ‘Golf Trainer’ machine for Topswing in Germany.
The day was generally busy with many new contact applications received. For information on these Road Shows for your own company or establishment please contact:- Trevor De Wilde on 01376 333333 or email tdewilde@micromech.co.uk
