Just released by YASKAWA is the F20-F35 high-speed pick and place solution providing a real alternative to mechanical cam-controlled handling systems. The new linear drive based handling system combines absolute precision with maximum dynamics and long service life. The system picks up, moves and precisely deposits weights of up to 1.5kg at cyberspeed.

The new F20-F35 twin axis module requires no mechanical elements for load transmission. Its linear bearings are designed for an extremely long service life, ensuring high availability and reliability, and the system’s linear motors feature excellent energy efficiency and extremely low ongoing energy costs. The system is free of backlash permitting highly precise positioning. Its warp resistant structure allows for extremely dynamic moves with shortest positioning times, with high positioning stability and outstanding machine performance.

The systems range is 300mm horizontal and 100mm vertical, the vertical axis has a
pneumatic brake. The payload is 100N for the horizontal and 15N for the vertical axis. Cycle time is < 0.90s and the repeatability ± 0.02mm.

The new handling system is supplied as an integrated, ready-to-install solution. All contained linear motors, servo amplifiers and machine controllers with IEC 61131 programming are designed and manufactured by YASKAWA. All components are carefully matched, allowing for the creation of highly compact solutions resulting in a maximum performance.

The twin axis module is particularly suitable for highly dynamic applications that also require good repeatability. Typical applications are industrial handling and assembly, measurement and testing, medical engineering pick-and-place systems in electronics and applications in the packaging and food industries.
