Delta Tau provides a set of backplane boards to connect the UMAC CPU board to its servo and I/O interface boards via the 96-pin DIN connectors on each board across a shared bus called the UBUS. Standard Eurocard backplane boards from third parties can be used also, but Delta Tau's backplane boards have several potentially important features. First, they have a special connector for the ACC-E1power supply, therefore special wiring of power sources is not required. Second, each supply voltage (+5V, GND, +15V, -15V, and AGND) has a wide plane connection across the backplane board. Third, all three rows are bussed between connectors. Finally, the signal traces are terminated in a manner optimised for use in the UMAC.

Acc-U8 provides a backplane board for connecting eight 3U-format circuit boards plus an ACC-E1 power supply with a total width of nine slots.
