Kollmorgen has announced the release of its next-generation programmable motion controller, the PCMM2G, designed to address the performance and scalability demands of modern industrial automation.
The PCMM2G controller delivers enhanced processing capability via a 1.5 GHz quad-core architecture and supports up to 64 synchronised axes of motion, making it suitable for both compact machines and complex multi-axis automation systems requiring tight coordination.
Key features include:
- High-speed deterministic motion control performance
- Scalable architecture supporting up to 64 synchronised axes
- Seamless integration with the Kollmorgen Automation Suite
- Support for EtherCAT, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP
- Expanded onboard memory for larger applications
- Enhanced diagnostics for improved fault detection and system visibility
- Simplified configuration tools to reduce commissioning time
Typical applications include:
- Packaging machinery
- Robotics and robotic cells
- Pick-and-place systems
- Material handling and conveyor systems
- High-speed assembly and production lines
Additional engineering enhancements focus on reducing commissioning time, improving machine uptime, and simplifying development for OEMs and machine builders.
The PCMM2G continues Kollmorgen’s focus on scalable motion control solutions that allow machine performance to be increased without adding unnecessary system complexity.
