The Akribis AFC90SMZ Series is a high-performance single-axis linear motor stage designed for applications requiring precise positioning, smooth motion and high dynamic performance. Its direct drive linear motor architecture eliminates mechanical transmission components such as ball screws and belts, providing zero backlash and reducing mechanical wear and maintenance requirements.

Designed for precision automation applications, the AFC90SMZ combines a compact stage configuration with high-speed operation and excellent positioning repeatability. Integrated encoder feedback and precision linear guidance provide accurate positioning and smooth, controlled motion across the stage travel.

The direct drive design enables rapid acceleration and precise velocity control, helping increase machine throughput while maintaining positioning performance. With fewer mechanical transmission components, the stage also offers improved reliability and reduced maintenance compared with conventional mechanically driven positioning systems.

AFC90 Series Single-Axis Linear Motor Stage

The AFC90 Series is a compact, high-precision single-axis positioning stage designed around direct drive linear motor technology. It integrates a linear motor, dual linear guides, high-resolution optical encoder feedback and a rigid aluminium housing into a complete motion module.

By removing mechanical transmission components such as ball screws, belts and couplings, the direct drive system provides smooth motion, rapid response and precise positioning without backlash. This also reduces mechanical wear and helps minimise maintenance requirements in demanding automation systems.

The AFC90 Series delivers continuous force ratings from 20 N to 34 N and peak force ratings from 55 N to 91 N. Encoder resolution is available down to 0.05 μm, with repeatability down to ±0.5 μm for travel lengths up to 50 mm and ±1 μm for longer travel configurations. Stroke lengths of up to 500 mm are available.

Dual self-lubricating linear guides provide stable and accurate linear motion while supporting long-term industrial operation. The compact construction and flexible installation arrangement make the stage suitable for machines where space, positioning accuracy and dynamic performance are important.

The LML70 Series Single-Axis Linear Motor Stage is a compact miniature positioning module based on direct drive linear motor technology. It integrates a linear motor, dual self-lubricating linear guides, high-resolution optical encoder feedback and an aluminium housing into a complete motion stage.

The direct drive system provides smooth, responsive positioning without requiring mechanical transmission components such as ball screws, belts or couplings. This helps minimise mechanical wear, backlash and maintenance while supporting accurate, repeatable motion.

Available with travel lengths of 200 mm or 300 mm, the LML70 delivers a continuous force of 17.1 N and a peak force of 51.3 N. Encoder resolution down to 0.05 μm and repeatability up to ±1 μm make it suitable for demanding precision automation applications.

Its compact 70 mm-wide construction and flexible, stackable configuration allow the LML70 to be integrated into space-constrained machines or combined with another stage to create a multi-axis positioning system.

The ALM-T Series Ironless Linear Motor is designed for applications requiring a compact motor profile, low moving mass and high force density. Its ironless construction eliminates cogging force, enabling exceptionally smooth motion with minimal velocity ripple.

The motor’s lightweight coil and direct drive design provide high acceleration and rapid dynamic response without requiring mechanical transmission components such as ball screws, belts or gearboxes. This reduces backlash, mechanical wear and maintenance while supporting precise and repeatable linear motion.

The RDM-A Series Rod Linear Motor, also known as a shaft motor, is a compact direct drive solution designed for precise linear motion. Its cylindrical magnetic track and closely arranged round coils create a symmetrical motor construction with efficient use of the available magnetic flux.

An air gap between the motor coil and magnetic track enables non-contact linear movement. The ironless design produces no cogging or magnetic attraction force between the coil and track, supporting smooth motion, precise force control and simple mechanical assembly.

The RDM-A Series provides continuous force ratings from 2.1 N to 137.8 N and peak force ratings from 6.2 N to 413.4 N. Motor sizes range from a 20 mm-wide coil with an 8 mm-diameter shaft to a 60 mm-wide coil with a 30 mm-diameter shaft.

Multiple coil lengths, magnetic track lengths and stroke options are available. The system can also support multiple independently controlled movers on a single magnetic track, providing a flexible solution for compact machine designs and multi-position processes.

The SGR Series Linear Motor Stage is a compact direct drive positioning module designed for fast, precise point-to-point motion. It integrates a coreless rod linear motor, single linear guide, encoder feedback and aluminium housing into a complete ready-to-integrate stage.

Its direct drive design eliminates mechanical transmission components such as ball screws, belts and couplings. This supports smooth, responsive positioning with reduced backlash, mechanical wear and maintenance requirements.

Four frame sizes are available: SGR30, SGR40, SGR60 and SGR70. The range provides continuous force ratings from 3.1 N to 114.8 N and peak force ratings from 9.3 N to 344.5 N, allowing the required motor performance and payload capacity to be matched to the application.
