Kollmorgen AKME servo motors are high-performance servo motors designed for precision motion control in hazardous industrial environments requiring ATEX and IECEx certification.

Built on the proven Kollmorgen AKM servo motor platform, the AKME range combines compact dimensions, high torque density and precise servo performance with design features that enable operation in Zone 2 gas and Zone 22 dust environments where explosive atmospheres may occasionally be present.

Available in multiple frame sizes, AKME servo motors support 75 VDC, 120 VAC, 240 VAC and 400 VAC systems, with speeds up to 5,000 rpm and continuous torque ratings up to 50.4 Nm. This provides a broad range of motor options for hazardous-area machinery requiring accurate and responsive motion control.

A wide selection of feedback options is available, including SFD-M, Hiperface DSL, resolver, Comcoder, EnDat 2.2 and BiSS B, providing flexibility for different control and positioning requirements. The motors are compatible with Kollmorgen AKD, AKD2G and Kollmorgen Essentials™ servo drives, enabling integration into complete Kollmorgen motion control systems.

With IP64 protection and compatibility with standard Kollmorgen motor cables, AKME servo motors are suitable for demanding applications including pharmaceutical production, food processing, grain handling, chemical processing, paint and coating systems, packaging machinery and other automation equipment operating in ATEX-regulated environments.
