HI-MOD ET/ETS EtherCAT Stepper Motor and Drive Combo Unit

The HI-MOD ET/ETS Series combines a stepper motor, integrated EtherCAT drive and battery-less multi-turn absolute encoder within a compact unit. Offering full closed-loop control, holding torque up to 920 Ncm and supply options from 48 to 140 V DC, the range is designed for high-performance distributed motion control applications. ETS models also include SIL3 Safe Torque Off.

The HI-MOD ET/ETS EtherCAT Stepper Motor and Drive Combo Unit integrates a stepper motor, bipolar chopper drive, battery-less multi-turn absolute encoder and EtherCAT communication interface within a single compact assembly.

Its full closed-loop control system continuously monitors the motor’s actual position, providing reliable positioning and improved performance under changing load conditions. The absolute encoder retains position information without batteries and removes the need to repeat the homing process after every power cycle.

The HI-MOD range provides holding torque up to 920 Ncm and supports supply voltages from 48 to 140 V DC. Higher-voltage operation helps improve torque availability at medium and high motor speeds for demanding dynamic applications.

HI-MOD ET models provide EtherCAT motion control without integrated Safe Torque Off. HI-MOD ETS versions add a SIL3-rated Safe Torque Off function with Error Detection Monitor for applications requiring an integrated machine safety function.

M12 connectors provide robust industrial connections for power, EtherCAT and digital I/O. Additional features include multiple operating modes, two digital inputs, two digital outputs, a touch-probe hardware input and RTA’s Auto-Sync function.

Front brake and planetary gearbox options are also available, allowing the integrated unit to be configured for vertical axes, increased torque or reduced output speed.
