Rotary encoders are electro-mechanical devices used to monitor and control the position and angular speed of rotating shafts. In particular, incremental encoders track positional changes relative to a defined reference point. As a result, they operate independently of the direction of rotation. By generating electrical pulses, they measure rotation, speed, and acceleration. However, the reference (zero) position must be reset at each system start-up.

ETMR – Magnetic Incremental

Rotary encoders are electro-mechanical devices designed to control the position and the angular speed of mechanical axles in motion. Rotary incremental encoders are so defined since they track the increase (variation) in respect to a position taken as a reference point and independently from the direction of the rotation. The incremental encoder senses rotation, speed and acceleration by counting the number of pulses sent by the output circuit, but the zero point must be reset at every new start.
